 As the founder of Courageous Concepts, I have a deep passion for building female leaders and cultivating sustainable self-esteem within women.  I am a passionate advocate for the growth mindset and a dynamic leader in the field of sustainable confidence coaching. With over 20 years of experience in leadership roles within multinational corporations and state-wide government environments, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible potential that individuals possess when they truly understand their strengths and the value they bring.  Whilst we often improve and grow when others believe in us, we truly thrive when we believe in ourselves.  

In 2018, I was at a women’s technology event, where an incredible female leadership coach was giving a talk, at the time I was working in a leadership role myself within a large digital transformation program for state government. A couple of weeks later the whole program was really struggling with direction and ultimately leadership, I decided to reached out to the leadership coach who had presented, to see how we could engage her to do some executive board coaching. After a long conversation she talked me into becoming one of her Leadership Coaching Consultants, so that I could deliver the training myself, and after much study and reflection on my own leadership style at the time, I soon became licensed to coach the comprehensive LeadershipHQ’s Leadership Toolkit. 

The training and experience helped me greatly within my existing career leading large teams and complex digital transformation programs, however, it also highlighted the profound impact of encouragement and support on individual growth. However, this experience also opened my eyes to the challenge’s women face in thriving. I observed that many women often felt undervalued, overlooked, or lacked the confidence to pursue leadership roles or promotions. I also witnessed the significant impact that having children can have on women's careers, particularly the challenges of returning to work after parental leave or navigating children and work/life balance.  This inspired me to establish Courageous Concepts, an organisation dedicated to providing comprehensive leadership coaching to everyday women.  We offer flexible schedules, affordable costs, and programs designed specifically for women by women.

Since 2018, I've had the privilege of coaching incredible women across diverse industries, empowering them to become fearless leaders. These women have gone on to achieve remarkable success, demonstrating passion, fairness, and courage as they make valuable contributions within their communities, corporations, and government organisations.

Through this experience, I have developed a deep understanding of the intricate connection between self-esteem and courageous leadership. I believe that leaders who are kind, thoughtful, fair, and strong must also cultivate self-respect. To further support women on this journey, I designed and launched a new program in 2024.  "Courage Within" is a deeply personal program, born from my own life experiences, the insights of past and present clients, and countless hours of research. It is designed to cultivate sustainable self-belief . Guiding my clients as they transform their thought processes, embrace their strengths, and discover their true value is an absolute privilege. While I cannot shield my clients from life's challenges or erase past hardships, I can empower them to navigate situations and opportunities with a renewed perspective.

My programs specialise in supporting women as they navigate life's unique and often challenging transitions. I help women to understand their authentic selves, celebrate their unique strengths, appreciate their personal journeys, and cultivate a lasting sense of self-worth.  As women, we share a unique bond, connected by the universal experiences and challenges that shape our lives. However, in today's world, there are too many opportunities for women to focus on social comparisons to gain contingent self-esteem, and this has an enormous impact on how we evaluate ourselves and others. As women, we often compare ourselves to others across many domains, including work performance, income, possessions, social popularity, our children's achievements, and even our physical appearance. Without deeply embedded and sustainable self-esteem, rooted in a growth mindset, social comparison can literally annihilate our motivation and confidence, and ultimately erode our sense of self-worth and value, having detrimental impacts on our mental health.

By focusing on our inner values, strengths, and true self, and cultivating a growth mindset, we can cultivate a sense of self-worth that is unshakeable. This inner confidence empowers us to navigate challenges with resilience, pursue our passions with authenticity, and build fulfilling relationships. Nurturing a growth mindset involves practicing self-compassion, setting realistic goals, celebrating our unique qualities, and embracing continuous learning and growth. It is an ongoing journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance that leads to greater happiness and fulfilment.
